Oaks on the Avenue

This development is located on a strip of land opposite the Forresters Arms (Forries) in Newlands. The property required rezoning and subdivision prior to construction, which was achieved after extensive negotiations.

Two blocks were created, each comprising two duplex units. Each unit had three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a double garage. The units were designed and oriented to maximize views and sun exposure.

The site is located within an Urban Conservation Area, which influenced the distinctly Cape Vernacular style of the units, allowing them to blend into the existing urban fabric. The design was commended by Revel Fox for these reasons.
